Practicing *mostly verbatim can help because it lets you become familiar with a home base. But during the actual trial, give yourself permission to go off script as appropriate. Once you make the “off-script” point, then just return to home base.

But, in the three bench trials that I did I had zero help as I prepped, and did the argument solely. I do though want to start from scratch and first learn how the basics of a bench trial. I was hired for a new position where I will be appearing in PI and civil trials, and arbitration. I am looking forward to learn all of this. But, better yet have good resource, for later on.
